ܒܫܢܬ ܥܣܪ̈ܝܢ ܘܬܠܬ ܫܢ̈ܝܢ ܠܝܘܐܫ ܒܪ ܐܚܙܝܐ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܐܡܠܟ ܝܗܘܐܚܙ ܒܪ ܝܗܘ ܥܠ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܒܫܡܪܝܢ ܫܒܥܣܪܐ ܫܢ̈ܝܢ
shnyn shbesr' bshmryn 'ysryl el yhw br yhw'khz 'mlk dyhwd' mlk' 'khzy' br lyw'sh shnyn wthlth esryn bshnth
In the twenty-third year of Joash the son of Ahaziah, king of Judah, Jehoahaz the son of Jehu began to reign over Israel in Samaria for seventeen years.

ܘܥܒܕ ܕܒܝܫ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܗܠܟ ܒܚ̈ܛܗܘܗܝ ܕܝܘܪܒܥܡ ܒܪ ܢܒܛ ܕܐܚܛܝ ܠܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܠܐ ܣܛܐ ܡܢܗܘܢ
mnhwn sT' wl' l'ysryl d'khTy nbT br dywrbem bkhThwhy whlk mry' qdm dbysh webd
He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, and followed the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin. He didn’t depart from it.

ܘܐܬܚܡܬ ܪܘܓܙܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܥܠ ܐܝܣܪܐܝܠ ܘܐܫܠܡ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܐܝܕܐ ܕܚܙܐܝܠ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܐܕܘܡ ܘܒܐܝܕܐ ܕܒܪܗܕܕ ܒܪ ܚܙܐܝܠ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܝܘܡ̈ܬܐ
ywmth' klhwn khz'yl br dbrhdd wb'yd' d'dwm mlk' dkhz'yl b'yd' 'nwn w'shlm 'ysr'yl el dmry' rwgzh w'thkhmth
Yahweh’s anger burned against Israel, and he delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael, continually.

ܘܨܠܝ ܝܗܘܐܚܙ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܫܡܥܗ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܚܙܐ ܐܘܠܨܢܗ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܕܐܠܨ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܐܕܘܡ
d'dwm mlk' 'nwn d'lts d'ysryl 'wltsnh dkhz' mTl mry' wshmeh mry' qdm yhw'khz wtsly
Jehoahaz begged Yahweh, and Yahweh listened to him; for he saw the oppression of Israel, how the king of Syria oppressed them.

ܘܝܗܒ ܡܪܝܐ ܦܪܘܩܐ ܠܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܢܦܩܘ ܡܢ ܬܚܝܬ ܐܝܕܐ ܕܐܕܘܡ ܘܝܬܒܘ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܒܫܠܝܐ ܒܡܫ̈ܟܢܝܗܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܕܐܬܡܠܝ ܘܐܝܟ ܕܡܢܬܡܠܝ
dmnthmly w'yk d'thmly 'yk bmshknyhwn bshly' 'ysryl bny wythbw d'dwm 'yd' thkhyth mn wnpqw l'ysryl prwq' mry' wyhb
(Yahweh gave Israel a savior, so that they went out from under the hand of the Syrians; and the children of Israel lived in their tents as before.

ܒܪܡ ܕܝܢ ܠܐ ܥܒܪܘ ܡܢ ܚ̈ܛܗܘܗܝ ܕܝܘܪܒܥܡ ܒܪ ܢܒܛ ܕܐܚܛܝ ܠܐܝܣܪܐܝܠ ܘܒܗܘܢ ܗܠܟܘ ܘܐܦ ܕܚܠܬܐ ܩܝܡܐ ܗܘܬ ܒܫܡܪܝܢ
bshmryn hwth qym' dkhlth' w'p hlkw wbhwn l'ysr'yl d'khTy nbT br dywrbem khThwhy mn ebrw l' dyn brm
Nevertheless they didn’t depart from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, with which he made Israel to sin, but walked in them; and the Asherah also remained in Samaria.)

ܘܠܐ ܐܫܬܒܩ ܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܠܝܗܘܐܚܙ ܥܡܐ ܐܠܐ ܐܢ ܚܡܫܝܢ ܦܪ̈ܫܝܢ ܘܥܣܪ̈ܝܢ ܡܪ̈ܟܒܢ ܘܥܣܪܐ ܐ̈ܠܦܝܢ ܪ̈ܓܠܝܝܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܘܒܕ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܐܕܘܡ ܘܥܒܕ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܥܦܪܐ ܠܡܕܫ
lmdsh epr' 'yk 'nwn webd d'dwm mlk' 'nwn d'wbd mTl rglyyn 'lpyn wesr' mrkbn wesryn prshyn khmshyn 'n 'l' em' lyhw'khz lh hw' 'shthbq wl'
For he didn’t leave to Jehoahaz of the people any more than fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen; for the king of Syria destroyed them and made them like the dust in threshing.

ܘܫܪܟܐ ܕܦ̈ܬܓܡܘܗܝ ܕܝܗܘܐܚܙ ܘܟܠܡܕܡ ܕܥܒܕ ܘܓܢܒܪܘܬܗ ܗܐ ܟܬܝܒܝܢ ܒܣܦܪ ܕܒܪܝܡܝܢ ܕܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ
d'ysryl dmlk' dbrymyn bspr kthybyn h' wgnbrwthh debd wklmdm dyhw'khz dpthgmwhy wshrk'
Now the rest of the acts of Jehoahaz, and all that he did, and his might, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

ܘܫܟܒ ܝܗܘܐܚܙ ܥܡ ܐ̈ܒܗܘܗܝ ܘܐܬܩܒܪ ܒܫܡܪܝܢ ܘܐܡܠܟ ܝܗܘܐܫ ܒܪܗ ܒܬܪܗ
bthrh brh yhw'sh w'mlk bshmryn w'thqbr 'bhwhy em yhw'khz wshkb
Jehoahaz slept with his fathers; and they buried him in Samaria; and Joash his son reigned in his place.

ܒܫܢܬ ܬܠܬܝܢ ܘܫܒܥ ܫ̈ܢܝܢ ܠܝܘܐܫ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܐܡܠܟ ܝܗܘܐܫ ܒܪ ܝܗܘܐܚܙ ܒܪ ܝܗܘ ܥܠ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܒܫܡܪܝܢ ܬܠܬܥܣܪܐ ܫ̈ܢܝܢ
shnyn thlthesr' bshmryn 'ysryl el yhw br yhw'khz br yhw'sh 'mlk dyhwd' mlk' lyw'sh shnyn wshbe thlthyn bshnth
In the thirty-seventh year of Joash king of Judah, Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz began to reign over Israel in Samaria for sixteen years.

ܘܥܒܕ ܕܒܝܫ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܠܐ ܣܛܐ ܡܢ ܟܘܠܗܘܢ ܚ̈ܛܗܘܗܝ ܕܝܘܪܒܥܡ ܒܪ ܢܒܛ ܕܐܚܛܝ ܠܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܐܠܐ ܒܗܘܢ ܗܠܟ
hlk bhwn 'l' l'ysryl d'khTy nbT br dywrbem khThwhy kwlhwn mn sT' wl' mry' qdm dbysh webd

ܘܫܪܟܐ ܕܦ̈ܬܓܡܘܗܝ ܕܝܗܘܐܫ ܘܟܘܠ ܡܕܡ ܕܥܒܕ ܘܓܢܒܪܘܬܗ . ܘܕܐܬܟܬܫ ܥܡ ܐܡܘܨܝܐ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܗܐ ܟܬܝܒܝܢ ܒܣܦܪ ܕܒܪܝܡܝܢ ܕܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ

Now the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, and his might with which he fought against Amaziah king of Judah, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

ܘܫܟܒ ܝܗܘܐܫ ܥܡ ܐ̈ܒܗܘܗܝ ܘܝܘܪܒܥܡ ܒܪܗ ܝܬܒ ܥܠ ܟܘܪܣܝܗ ܘܐܬܩܒܪ ܝܗܘܐܫ ܒܫܡܪܝܢ ܥܡ ܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ
d'ysryl mlk' em bshmryn yhw'sh w'thqbr kwrsyh el ythb brh wywrbem 'bhwhy em yhw'sh wshkb
Joash slept with his fathers; and Jeroboam sat on his throne. Joash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel.

ܘܐܠܝܫܥ ܐܬܟܪܗ ܟܘܪܗܢܐ ܕܡܐܬ ܒܗ ܘܢܚܬ ܠܘܬܗ ܝܗܘܐܫ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܐܝܠ ܘܒܟܐ ܥܠ ܐ̈ܦܘܗܝ ܘܐܡܪ ܐܒܝ ܐܒܝ ܡ̈ܪܟܒܬܗ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܦܪ̈ܫܘܗܝ
wprshwhy d'ysryl mrkbthh 'by 'by w'mr 'pwhy el wbk' d'ysr'yl mlk' yhw'sh lwthh wnkhth bh dm'th kwrhn' 'thkrh w'lyshe
Now Elisha became sick with the illness of which he died; and Joash the king of Israel came down to him, and wept over him, and said, “My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and its horsemen!”

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܐܠܝܫܥ ܣܒ ܩܫܬܐ ܘܓܐܪ̈ܐ ܘܢܣܒ ܩܫܬܐ ܘܓܐܪ̈ܐ
wg'r' qshth' wnsb wg'r' qshth' sb 'lyshe lh w'mr
Elisha said to him, “Take bow and arrows;” and he took bow and arrows for himself.

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܡܠܟܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܐܪܟܒ ܐܝܕܟ ܥܠ ܩܫܬܐ ܘܐܪܟܒ ܐܝܕܗ ܘܣܡ ܐܠܝܫܥ ܐ̈ܝܕܘܗܝ ܥܠ ܐ̈ܝܕܘܗܝ ܕܡܠܟܐ
dmlk' 'ydwhy el 'ydwhy 'lyshe wsm 'ydh w'rkb qshth' el 'ydk 'rkb d'ysryl lmlk' w'mr
He said to the king of Israel, “Put your hand on the bow;” and he put his hand on it. Elisha laid his hands on the king’s hands.

ܘܐܡܪ ܦܬܚ ܟܘܬܐ ܠܡܕܢܚܐ ܘܦܬܚ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܐܠܝܫܥ ܫܕܝ ܘܫܕܐ ܓܐܪܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܓܐܪܐ ܕܦܘܪܩܢܐ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܘܓܐܪܐ ܕܦܘܪܩܢܐ ܒܐܕܘܡ ܘܬܡܚܐ ܠܐܕ̈ܘܡܝܐ ܒܐܦܩ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܬܓܡܪ ܐܢܘܢ
'nwn dthgmr edm' b'pq l'dwmy' wthmkh' b'dwm dpwrqn' wg'r' lmry' dpwrqn' g'r' w'mr g'r' wshd' shdy 'lyshe lh w'mr wpthkh lmdnkh' kwth' pthkh w'mr
He said, “Open the window eastward;” and he opened it. Then Elisha said, “Shoot!” and he shot. He said, “Yahweh’s arrow of victory, even the arrow of victory over Syria; for you will strike the Syrians in Aphek until you have consumed them.”

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܣܒ ܓܐܪܐ ܘܢܣܒ ܘܐܡܪ ܡܚܝ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܘܡܚܐ ܬܠܬ ܙܒ̈ܢܝܢ ܘܩܡ
wqm zbnyn thlth wmkh' b're' mkhy w'mr wnsb g'r' sb lh w'mr
He said, “Take the arrows;” and he took them. He said to the king of Israel, “Strike the ground;” and he struck three times, and stopped.

ܘܪܓܙ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܢܒܝܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܡܡܚܐ ܚܡܫ ܐܘ ܫܬ ܙܒܢ̈ܝܢ ܘܗܝܕܝܢ ܬܡܚܐ ܠܐܕܘ̈ܡܝܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܬܓܡܪ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܗܫܐ ܬܠܬ ܙܒܢܝ̈ܢ ܬܡܚܐ ܠܐܕܘܡ
l'dwm thmkh' zbnyn thlth hsh' mn 'nwn dthgmr edm' l'dwmy' thmkh' whydyn zbnyn shth 'w khmsh lmmkh' w'mr d'lh' nbyh elwhy wrgz
The man of God was angry with him, and said, “You should have struck five or six times. Then you would have struck Syria until you had consumed it, but now you will strike Syria just three times.”

ܘܡܝܬ ܐܠܝܫܥ ܘܩܒܪܘܗܝ ܘܓܝܣ̈ܐ ܕܡܘܐܒ ܐܬܘ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܒܗ ܒܫܢܬܐ ܗܝ
hy bshnth' bh 're' el 'thw dmw'b wgys' wqbrwhy 'lyshe wmyth
Elisha died, and they buried him. Now the bands of the Moabites invaded the land at the coming in of the year.

ܘܟܕ ܗܢܘܢ ܩܒܪܝܢ ܓܒܪܐ ܚܙܘ ܓܝܣܐ ܘܐܪܡܝܘܗܝ ܠܓܒܪܐ ܒܩܒܪܗ ܕܐܠܝܫܥ ܘܐܙܠ ܓܒܪܐ ܩܪܒ ܠܓܪ̈ܡܘܗܝ ܕܐܠܝܫܥ ܘܚܝܐ ܘܩܡ ܥܠ ܪ̈ܓܠܘܗܝ
rglwhy el wqm wkhy' d'lyshe lgrmwhy qrb gbr' w'zl d'lyshe bqbrh lgbr' w'rmywhy gys' khzw gbr' qbryn hnwn wkd
As they were burying a man, behold, they saw a band of raiders; and they threw the man into Elisha’s tomb. As soon as the man touched Elisha’s bones, he revived, and stood up on his feet.

ܘܚܙܐܝܠ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܐܕܘܡ ܐܠܨ ܠܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܝܘܡ̈ܘܗܝ ܕܝܗܘܐܚܙ
dyhw'khz ywmwhy klhwn l'ysryl 'lts d'dwm mlk' wkhz'yl
Hazael king of Syria oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz.

ܘܚܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܪܚܡ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܘܐܬܦܢܝ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܩܝܡܗ ܕܥܡ ܐܒܪܗܡ ܘܥܡ ܐܝܣܚܩ ܘܥܡ ܝܥܩܘܒ ܘܠܐ ܨܒܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܕܢܚܒܠ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܫܕܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܩܕܡܘܗܝ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܗܝܕܝܢ
lhydyn edm' qdmwhy mn 'nwn shd' wl' 'nwn dnkhbl mry' tsb' wl' yeqwb wem 'yskhq wem 'brhm dem qymh mTl elyhwn w'thpny elyhwn wrkhm mry' 'nwn wkhn
But Yahweh was gracious to them, and had compassion on them, and favored them because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them and he didn’t cast them from his presence as yet.

ܘܡܝܬ ܚܙܐܝܠ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܐܕܘܡ ܘܐܡܠܟ ܒܪܗܕܕ ܒܪܗ ܒܬܪܗ

Hazael king of Syria died; and Benhadad his son reigned in his place.

ܘܗܦܟ ܝܗܘܐܫ ܒܪ ܝܗܘܐܚܙ ܘܢܣܒ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܡܢ ܒܪܗܕܕ ܒܪ ܚܙܐܝܠ ܕܢܣܒ ܡܢ ܝܗܘܐܚܙ ܐܒܘܗܝ ܒܩܪܒܐ ܬܠܬ ܫܢܝ̈ܢ ܡܚܝܗܝ ܝܗܘܐܫ ܘܐܗܦܟ ܐܢܝ̈ܢ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܠܐܝܣܪܝܠ
l'ysryl qwry' 'nyn w'hpk yhw'sh mkhyhy shnyn thlth bqrb' 'bwhy yhw'khz mn dnsb khz'yl br brhdd mn qwry' wnsb yhw'khz br yhw'sh whpk
Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz took again out of the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael the cities which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Joash struck him three times, and recovered the cities of Israel.
